You get what you pay for here. Definitely the place to be on major weekends but it tends to get crowded. Great snow, good vibe, sweet park! Heavenly
Fairly consistent, good pretty much year round but best during the winter months. Plenty of parking but can get crowded when conditions are good. Usually glassy in the mornings with on-shore in the afternoons. El Porto
Any spot between the pier and Rosecrans is decent on most days. There's a good mix of surfers and bodyboarders, and like Porto, can get crowded on stand-out days. Can get huge (mostly walled up) during the winter! Manhattan Beach
The surf here is just sick and gets pumping w/ the right swell. Not the easiest to get to but definitely worth the hike. btw, don't go just for the nude beach.... you'll be seriously disappointed! Black's Beach
PB is fun for the crowds but the waves are mediocre. There is free parking in the residential streets but might take a while to find a spot. Pacific Beach
