2008 O Neill Cold Water Classic in Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz, CA (October 10, 2008):
The 2008 O'Neill Cold Water Classic is set to take place at Steamer Lane in Santa Cruz, CA from October 21-26, 2008. The Cold Water Classic, which is an ASP WQS 4-Star event, is the biggest ASP event held in the cold waters of Northern California and offers a sharp contrast to the upcoming contests in the tropical waters of Hawaii. The event, which was won last year by current ASP World Tour surfer Jordy Smith, is the third and final stop of the 2008 Macy’s California Trifecta Surf Series. The backup break for the event is Waddell Creek, which is located just north of Santa Cruz.
