In 1963, The Beach Boys rocked the country with their hit single "Surfin' USA" but it should have been more appropriately called "Surfin' California" since 14 of the16 spots mentioned in the song belong to California! California offers over 600 well known surf spots over a span of 1,100 miles of ocean coastline and is home to many world-renown breaks, surf companies, and surfers.
Whether you like slow rolling, pitching, big and hollow, or just insanely big, you'll find your wave in California. Santa Cruz is the birthplace of California surf, Huntington Beach is known as "Surf City USA", Mavericks has the biggest wave in California, Blacks Beach is famous for their hollow waves and sunbathers au naturale, and Trestles is home to the ASP World Tour every year, just to name a few.
If everybody had an ocean across the U.S.A.
Then everybody'd be surfin' like Califor-Nie-A… |
