General Overview
Methven Heliskiing celebrated its 21st year in 2006. Led by Alpine Guides Director Kevin Boekholt since day one, Methven Heliskiing is internationally renowned for the incredible range of terrain available - and the dedication and enthusiasm of the guiding team. Methven Heliskiing's terrain incorporates 3 amazing mountain ranges - the Arrowsmiths, Ragged, and Palmer Ranges. To save a mouthful, they just call it "the Arrowsmiths". These dramatic peaks lie at the headwaters of the Rakaia and Rangitata Rivers, hidden from the Canterbury Plains by the foothills of the Southern Alps.
Nowhere else in NZ (outside of the Mt Cook area) can you find this kind of high alpine terrain: pinnacles of rock and ice, gnarly couloirs, and steep glaciers. There's not a tree in sight – you will leave them 5000 ft below! The Arrowsmiths catch snow from
