General Overview
If you go to Australia to surf, the Gold Coast is the place to be. Everyone knows the perfect Burleigh Heads rights from Bruce Brown's The Endless Summer II. The water is clear and the waves are fast and hollow. It really can't get much better for a regular foot with a craving for epic rights. Within the break lies three seprated breaks. From the ouside in there is Sharkies, Rockbreak, and the beach breaks run from the point north. The currents can get a little stong but not as bad as Snapper. If you really want to avoid the paddle out you can always jump off the bluff which takes more guts than know how. Regardless of the varrying degrees of risk, it is well worth it. If your hungry after a good 5 hour session you can hit up Big Chiefs, arguably one of the best burger joints on the Gold Coast. Once you have had your fill, you can relax on the bautiful beach and watch the scenery pass you by. At night, thousands of laurikets (small parrots) flock to the trees and you can hear them from a mile away.
