São Conrado is the most popular bodyboarding break in Rio. It can be epic with the right conditions and offers the hollowest and best barrels in Rio. It is sometimes compared to Pipeline and Puerto Escondido. This break is frequented by the pros as well as the locals from the favela, all of whom rip. Make an effort and the locals will be friendly. Watch out for sewage outfalls after heavy rains.
