General Overview
Farol dos Naufragados is at the southern tip of the island of Florianopolis and is totally totally away from any crowds or tourists. It is beautiful beach which works best with a South swell and wind from the West or Northeast. Anything but a South wind (which is really true of any of the breaks in Florianopolis) will do. The right side of the beach produces nice hollow waves and can hold a decent size swell. There is a nice left on the left side of the beach.
To get there, takethe road to Ribeirão da Ilha (turn right close to Morro das Pedras) and follow it to the end. From there, take the dirt road as far as possible toward Ponta dos Naufragados and leave your car there (better to not leave any valuables inside). From there, it’s about a 30-40 minute walk but it’s well worth it.
