General Overview
There are a variety of waves in Avellanas, but the majority of surfers are packing into the breaks near the estuary. There is a long right that has a great sandy bottom and won't put you through the washing machine. Also there apparently is a pig that frequents the beach. Although I can not personally attest to seeing this surf loving pig, I fully believe it is possible... it is Costa Rica. Don't leave your stuff lying around unless you want to loose it. Petty theft is the norm around Tamarindo.
