General Overview

St Gilles Croix-de-Vie is a quaint coastal town between Saint Jean de Monts and Les Sables-d’Olonne, the perfect French summer resort having over 3km of sandy beaches with the main beach located on the north side of the Vie estuary. Let’s call this a mellow beach break, perfect for a surfer of a certain age on a longboard. There is an active surf community with local competitions and surf festival. The summer time tourists can make it a very crowded line-up but there are plenty of places to check out just north and south of town. Explore, enjoy.
