Because of its high quality waves and dense populace the surfing lifestyle has become thoroughly entrenched in La Sauzaie with the city hosting the annual ASP Vendee Surf Pro springtime event. The wave, which can hold size, breaks on a rocky reef and is short, fast, hollow and very powerful even on smaller days.
