General Overview

Located on the east coast of the Aupouri Peninsula, Rarawa Beach is located just a few miles north of Ngataki. You can access the beach from Rarawa Beach Road which is a few miles off Highway 1. Rarawa offers a nice wave that is surfable at all tides, though mid-tide is preferable with a southwest wind. The sand is very fine and is a great spot to camp during the warm summer months. Typically, Rarwa is only frequented by locals, but the summer months are a bit more crowded.
