General Overview

Known more for Muscle Beach, street performers, and epic drum circles on weekends, Venice does have its days. Your best bet is the Venice breakwater, but other spots between there and the pier can pick up decent swell as well. Overall, Venice is typical of the other beach breaks in Central LA; not much shape and prone to closing out with any kind of size.

Venice is my home break, so can't hate too hard on it. But the reality is that it's either crumbly and blown out (in the afternoons) or completely closed out. Though in recent weeks, I've had some of my best surf there. Water gets a little dicey too.
