General Overview
Montauk was a small fishing village but like many of the small towns on Long Island it becomes a tourist destination for the summer months bringing the crowds, traffic and madness. Once the fall and winter arrive it becomes home to some of the bigger rideable waves on the island and the locals horde it all they can. It’s beautiful country and as the homegrown Allan Weisbecker describes it "the end of the road".
Terrace is a favorite locals spot that is right in the center of town, which means it’s usually crowded. It can produce some nice summer tubes on a south facing sand covered reef. Again, show respect to the locals and it all should be good.
