General Overview
The Brookings Jetty area attracts tourists and retiree’s alike to Southern Oregon’s warmest climate zone. This is truly a stunning wilderness area that offers some great scenic hiking and picnicking with state parks and wayside camping aplenty but unfortunately there is not much good surfing.
Just south of the heavily fortified Brookings Harbor jetty and Chetco River Coast Guard Station one might find some good surf on the south-facing beach. When it’s breaking at high tide it’s a bit mushy but at low tide you could get lucky and catch some hollow fast peaks among the close outs.
