General Overview
This lonely part of the Pacific Northwest is freezing cold, constantly overcast, windy and usually raining. If this is your thing check out Westport’s beaches during the summer months. South Jetty can get good if you catch it at high tide on the right swell. Close to the harbor entrance is Half Moon Bay another long and lonely stretch of beach that can get fast and hollow if the on-shore winds have backed off. Further north it can get bigger but the wind howls, the waves are mushy and you’d be lucky not to freeze your toes off. Ocean City has some sand bars, which on occasion can offer some rideable peaks.
