General Overview
Two words comes to mind when a surfer hears "Australia" and those words are "Snapper Rocks". Every year the Quiksilver pro descends upon Coolangatta to unleash the top 44 on Snapper. Although storms wreaked havoc on Snapper in 2004 and 2005, Snapper was in full force in 2007 as Mick Fanning took first in the Quiksilver pro. If you do decide to go, get there early. On a good swell, there will be well over 30 surfers in the water by sunrise and it only gets more packed as the day goes on. If you're smart, you will ride a wave (if you get one) until it dumps out into Greenmount and then walk back up the beach to the Key hole (rock jump off).
