La Paloma Surf School is located in La Paloma, Uruguay. Local Canario and his sons run a summer surfing school along with 10 "cabañas" which they rent out all year round. The oldest son is a great surfer in addition to being a qualified lifeguard.

The operation is situated a mere three blocks away from one of the the best point breaks in Uruguay, "Zanja Honda", a left reef wave. La Paloma is a peninsula (Cape Santa María) located on the Atlantic Ocean, 240 km from Montevideo, 70 km from Punta del Este and 140 km from the southern border with Brazil. Being a peninsula, La Paloma has excellent conditions for surfing - both learning and advanced.

You are guaranteed to experience suitable learning conditions most days, with 2 to 3 foot waves and off shore winds. For the advanced surfer, they have excellent 5 to 7 foot point breaks and beach breaks, depending on swell and wind direction.
